Recipe FAQs

→ Can I swap out the classic Oreos for other kinds?
Totally! Go for flavors like golden, mint, or even special edition varieties. Get creative and mix it up in one batch if you'd like.
→ Should I scrape the filling out of the Oreos for the crust?
Nope! Crush the entire cookie, filling included. The cream actually helps hold everything together, so you can use less butter.
→ Can I use regular muffin tins to make these?
Of course! Use standard muffin tins lined with baking cups. This recipe will yield around 10-12 mini cheesecakes in regular tins.
→ What's the best way to store leftover cheesecakes?
Put them in a sealed container and refrigerate for up to three days. The cookies might soften a bit, but they’ll still taste amazing.
→ Can these be frozen for later?
Yes! Just freeze them without any toppings. When you’re ready to eat them, thaw in the fridge overnight and add your crushed cookies and chocolate right before serving.

Ingredients

→ Crust Layer

01 3 tbsp butter, melted
02 1 ½ cups Oreo crumbs (around 15 cookies)

→ Cheesecake Center

03 2 blocks (16 oz) cream cheese, softened
04 1/2 cup powdered sugar
05 1/2 cup heavy cream for whipping
06 1 tsp vanilla
07 6 Oreos intact (for the surprise layer)

→ Topping Extras

08 Crushed Oreos, 1 cup
09 Chocolate sauce (1/2 cup, optional)
10 Whole Oreos for decoration (optional)

Steps

Step 01

Stir Oreo crumbs and melted butter in a bowl. Push this mixture firmly into mini cheesecake molds or muffin liner bottoms. Pop it in the fridge to set up while working on the filling.

Step 02

Mix together cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth and fluffy. Separately, whip the heavy cream until it forms stiff peaks, then fold it gently into the cream cheese mix to keep it airy.

Step 03

Start with a bit of cheesecake mix on the chilled crust. Add a whole Oreo in the middle for a fun layer, then cover it with more cheesecake filling. Smooth out the top.

Step 04

Let your cheesecakes sit in the fridge at least 4 hours or overnight so they firm up nicely.

Step 05

Before serving, cover the tops with crushed Oreos. Drizzle on chocolate sauce if you'd like, and finish with a decorative Oreo on top.

Notes

  1. You can prep these a couple of days ahead, just keep them sealed and in the fridge.
  2. Add toppings last minute for the freshest look.
