Building Your Bowl

Final Assembly:
Stack your cooked goodies and green onions right before digging in.
Sauce Creation:
Stir together sesame oil and soy sauce until smooth.
Flavor Building:
Add your ginger and garlic in stages with the meat for max flavor.
Beef Magic:
Cook the beef, crumbling it up as you go for bite-sized bits.
Rice Foundation:
Steam your rice so it comes out fluffy underneath everything.

When I learned to make this, it brought back memories of my top Korean spot. The owner once told me tossing in green onions at the last minute keeps them crisp and keeps that punchy flavor.

Tasty Pair-Ups

Try it with a jammy fried egg, snappy pickled cucumber, or some kimchi. Toss in sautéed spinach or quick broccoli if you like some extra greens.

Simple Switch-Ups

Ground turkey or chicken will lighten it up a bit. Feel free to toss in bell peppers or shredded carrots. If you want heat, sprinkle on some sriracha or gochugaru.

Clever Storage

Pop leftovers in an airtight box and they’ll last three days. Keeping rice and meat apart keeps 'em fresher. Warm everything with a splash of water so it stays soft.
