Creamy Onions (Printable Version)

Sweet, tender onions baked with cream and two kinds of cheese until bubbly and golden. A Southern classic that’s amazing with steak or barbecue.

# Ingredients:

01 - 1½ cups Parmesan cheese, shredded.
02 - 1 cup heavy whipping cream.
03 - 1½ cups mozzarella cheese, grated.
04 - ½ tsp smoked paprika for flavor.
05 - ¼ tsp ground black pepper.
06 - ½ tsp table salt.
07 - 1 tsp garlic powder.
08 - 3 large sweet onions (about 1.5 pounds), cut into ½-inch slices.
09 - 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter, diced.
10 - Optional: a bit of chopped fresh parsley as decoration.

# Steps:

01 - Set the oven to 375°F. Coat a 9x13 dish with a little oil or butter.
02 - Place the onion slices in the dish, allowing a little overlap in arrangement.
03 - Stir together the cream, pepper, garlic powder, salt, and paprika in a bowl.
04 - Spread the cream mixture over the onions. Sprinkle cheeses and butter evenly on top.
05 - Cover it with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Then take off the foil and bake another 20-25 minutes until it looks golden brown.
06 - Give it 5 minutes to cool. Sprinkle parsley on top if you like.

# Notes:

01 - Vidalia or Walla Walla onions are the best choice.
02 - Feel free to swap the cheeses for others if you'd prefer.
03 - You can put this together the night before and chill it.
