Cinnamon Cobbler (Printable Version)

Warm, gooey, and packed with cinnamon-sugar flavor, this dish has a cookie-like taste and a soft center that’s hard to resist.

# Ingredients:

→ Cobbler Base

01 - 1 ½ cups sugar
02 - ⅓ cup melted unsalted butter
03 - 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
04 - 2 ¼ teaspoons baking powder
05 - ¾ cup whole milk
06 - ¾ teaspoon salt
07 - 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
08 - 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

→ Magic Layer

09 - 1 ½ cups steaming hot water
10 - 1 ½ cups packed brown sugar

→ Cinnamon-Sugar Topping

11 - ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
12 - ¼ cup white sugar

# Steps:

01 - Set your oven to 350°F. Use a 9×13 baking dish and pour your melted butter straight in. Swirl it around so it completely coats the bottom. This is the secret to those crispy edges.
02 - In a large mixing bowl, whisk your sugar, vanilla, and milk until it all blends together. Then stir in the salt, flour, baking powder, and cinnamon. Don’t overwork it—mix just until smooth.
03 - Spread the batter over the melted butter in your dish. Keep them separate—don’t mix! Sprinkle the brown sugar evenly across the top, then pour the hot water right over everything. Resist the urge to stir!
04 - Place the dish in the oven and bake for 30-35 minutes. The top will turn golden and set. Even if the center seems a little jiggly, it’ll firm up after cooling.
05 - Once the cobbler comes out of the oven, quickly mix the cinnamon and sugar for the topping. Sprinkle it generously over the warm dessert. This gives it that sweet, snickerdoodle kick.
06 - Let it sit for about 10 minutes to cool down slightly. Scoop it into bowls while still warm, and why not add a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top to take it up a notch?

# Notes:

01 - Pouring hot water over the top creates a magical sauce underneath while baking.
02 - Best served warm, but leftovers heat up nicely in the microwave in about 30 seconds.
03 - Want a fruity twist? Throw in some diced apples or peaches before baking for extra flavor.
