Set your oven to the highest temperature it can go (around 450-500°). Stick a pizza stone or a baking sheet inside to heat up as the oven warms up. While waiting, season your ricotta by stirring in a pinch each of salt and pepper, then put it aside.
02 -
Once the oven’s preheated, get your dough ready. Dust the counter with flour, then press and flatten the dough using your hands. After it’s about an 8-inch circle, hold the edges and let it stretch naturally into a 10-12 inch round. If it keeps shrinking back, cover it with plastic wrap and let it sit for 15 minutes to relax before trying again.
03 -
Carefully grab the hot baking sheet from the oven and lightly coat it with cooking spray or oil. Add your dough. Spread mozzarella all over, spoon dollops of the seasoned ricotta in random spots, sprinkle parmesan, and arrange prosciutto on top. Toss a bit of oregano over everything. Bake for 10-15 minutes, until the cheese is bubbling and the crust is deep golden.
04 -
While the pizza bakes, mix up the hot honey in a small dish. Add the honey, balsamic vinegar, a good pinch of red pepper flakes, and 1/8 to 1/4 tsp of cayenne based on how spicy you want it. Heat it briefly in the microwave (about 20 seconds) until it’s warm and blends together easily. As it cools, it'll thicken.
05 -
After baking, take the pizza out of the oven and drizzle a little hot honey over the top (you don’t need to use all of it!). Slice it up and enjoy!
