French Toast Sausage Rolls (Printable Version)

Flattened bread hugs round sausage links, dunked in creamy batter and fried until golden brown. A fun and easy addition to mornings!

# Ingredients:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - 4 eggs, large
02 - 8 breakfast sausage links (choose pork, veggie, or turkey)
03 - 8 slices of soft sandwich bread (white or wheat works)
04 - 1 tablespoon butter (to fry with)
05 - ½ cup of milk
06 - 1 teaspoon cinnamon, ground
07 - 1 teaspoon vanilla flavoring

→ Optional Toppings

08 - Fresh fruits
09 - Powdered sugar for dusting
10 - Syrup for dipping or drizzling

# Steps:

01 - Fully cook the sausage links. Let them cool off just a bit.
02 - Cut off the crust from the bread. Use a rolling pin to evenly flatten every piece.
03 - Grab a shallow dish. Stir the eggs, milk, vanilla, and cinnamon together until smooth.
04 - Put each sausage on one end of the flattened bread. Roll it up tightly, using toothpicks if needed to hold the shape.
05 - Dip the rolled-up bread in the batter, making sure it’s evenly covered. Cook in a medium-heat buttered skillet for 3-4 minutes per side, or until golden.
06 - Pull out the toothpicks, then serve while warm. You can drizzle syrup, sprinkle powdered sugar, or toss some fresh berries on top.

# Notes:

01 - Crunchy on the outside, filled with sausage, and wrapped in sweet French toast goodness.
02 - A favorite with kids and just right for brunch or a fun morning treat!
03 - Pork, turkey, or vegetarian sausages all work well in this dish.
04 - Stick with medium heat to cook the French toast evenly without burning the surface.
