Cassava Chocolate Donuts (Printable Version)

Soft baked chocolate donuts prepared with cassava flour and finished with a chocolate glaze. Great for paleo, vegan, gluten-free, or nut-free lifestyles.

# Ingredients:

→ Chocolate Donuts

01 - 1/2 cup water
02 - 1/8 tsp salt
03 - 1/4 cup (20g) cacao powder
04 - 1/2 tsp baking soda
05 - 1/3 cup sunflower seed butter
06 - 1/3 cup (50g) cassava flour
07 - 1 tsp apple cider vinegar
08 - 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
09 - 3 Tbsp maple syrup

→ Chocolate Glaze

10 - 1 Tbsp sunflower seed butter
11 - 3 Tbsp dark chocolate chips
12 - 1 tsp coconut oil

# Steps:

01 - Heat your oven to 350°F and get it ready.
02 - Grab a medium bowl and whisk together the cassava flour, cacao powder, salt, and baking soda.
03 - Pour in the water, maple syrup, sunflower seed butter, vanilla, and apple cider vinegar. Stir it all up with a spatula until it’s smooth.
04 - Pop a silicone donut mold onto a baking tray. Spoon the batter into the mold, filling each section close to the top for 6 donuts.
05 - Put the donuts in the middle of your oven and bake for 20-25 minutes at 350°F.
06 - Take the donuts out and let them cool for about 5 minutes in the mold. Then move them to a cooling rack.
07 - In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the chocolate chips with the coconut oil. Once it's melted, stir in the sunflower seed butter until smooth.
08 - Pour the melted glaze into a bowl. Dip each donut in the glaze and add any toppings you like (nuts, sprinkles, seeds, etc.).

# Notes:

01 - Weigh your ingredients for the best outcome.
02 - If you'd rather not dip, drizzle the glaze on top.
03 - Try toppings like chopped nuts, seeds, sprinkles, or bee pollen.
04 - Silicone molds make it extra simple to remove the donuts.
