Bacon Maple Donuts (Printable Version)

Golden fried biscuit dough topped with a sweet maple glaze and crispy bacon crumbles for an easy sweet-and-savory treat.

# Ingredients:

01 - Oil for frying (like vegetable oil)
02 - 1 roll (16.3 ounces) of Grands! biscuit dough
03 - 1/2 cup of powdered sugar
04 - 1 teaspoon of butter, melted
05 - 2 tablespoons of real maple syrup
06 - 1/2 teaspoon of pure vanilla
07 - 3 slices of bacon, cooked crispy and chopped into bits

# Steps:

01 - Pour vegetable oil into a deep pan or heavy pot and heat it up to around 350°F. A thermometer’s handy for checking, but make sure it’s hot enough for frying.
02 - Take the biscuits apart and cut a small circle out of the center of each one. Use the rim of a bottle cap or anything round to shape the middle.
03 - Place the doughnuts in hot oil and cook them until they turn a golden brown on the outside. This usually takes 1-2 minutes per side. Set them on a rack with paper towels underneath to soak up any extra grease.
04 - In a medium bowl, combine the powdered sugar, melted butter, maple syrup, and vanilla. Stir it all together until it's smooth and good for dipping.
05 - Dip just the top of each doughnut into the glaze and set them back on the rack to let the excess drip off.
06 - Sprinkle the crumbled bacon over the wet glaze so it sticks nicely. You might need to press them on a bit.
07 - Let everything sit for a short time so the glaze firms up, then eat them while they're still warm and fresh.

# Notes:

01 - To get even doughnut holes, use something round, like the lid of an oil or water bottle, for cutting.
02 - Make sure the oil stays close to 350°F. If the temperature drops, they'll soak up too much grease; if it gets too hot, the doughnuts will burn outside without cooking through.
03 - Don’t crowd too many doughnuts in the oil at once, so the temperature stays steady and frying stays even.
04 - Let the extra grease drip off properly onto paper towels. This keeps the doughnuts light and less oily.
