Air Fryer Sandwich (Printable Version)

Crispy grilled cheese made easy with an air fryer. Bread turns golden, cheese melts perfectly every time.

# Ingredients:

→ Key Ingredients for Sandwiches

01 - 3 tablespoons softened butter (or swap for mayonnaise if you prefer)
02 - 4 slices of cheese (use 2 Havarti and 2 cheddar for a flavor combo)
03 - 4 slices of bread for sandwiches

# Steps:

01 - Take each slice and spread one side with butter (or mayonnaise if you like). This helps it get crispy and golden.
02 - Start by putting one slice of bread, butter side facing the air fryer basket. Think of this as the sandwich's bottom.
03 - Lay 2 slices of cheese over the bread in the basket, then top it with a second slice of bread, buttered side up.
04 - For lightweight or thin bread, stick a toothpick in the middle to stop the top slice from moving around in the air fryer.
05 - Set your air fryer to 370°F and cook for 4 minutes. No need to preheat most air fryers for this step.
06 - Carefully flip the sandwich over with a spatula and cook for another 4 minutes at the same temperature. Check for the toasty golden color you like.
07 - If you're making a second sandwich, repeat the process. Take out toothpicks if used, let the sandwich cool slightly, then slice and enjoy that gooey cheese!

# Notes:

01 - Many air fryers skip the preheating, but you should double-check yours.
02 - If you have a small basket, don’t cram it with sandwiches. Cook them one at a time.
03 - Thin bread? Toothpicks help stop the top slice from flying around.
04 - For a twist, use mayo instead of butter. It changes the flavor and texture.
