Chicken Pizza Base (Printable Version)

Swap dough for chicken in this pizza! It's low in carbs, gluten-free, and totally tasty.

# Ingredients:

→ For the chicken base

01 - 1 large egg
02 - 2 cups shredded cooked chicken
03 - ¼ cup finely grated parmesan cheese
04 - ½ teaspoon garlic powder
05 - ¾ cup mozzarella cheese, shredded (keep some for later)

→ For the extras

06 - 1 cup fresh basil leaves
07 - 1 cup sliced pepperoni
08 - ¼ cup prepared pizza sauce

# Steps:

01 - Set your oven to 425°F to preheat. Place parchment paper on a baking tray and keep it ready.
02 - Combine the shredded chicken, garlic powder, ¼ cup mozzarella cheese, parmesan, and egg in a large bowl. Mix everything really well.
03 - Spread the chicken mixture on the baking tray. Flatten it into a circle about ¼ inch thick.
04 - Pop the base into the oven for 15 minutes. It should look golden and dry on top, not damp.
05 - Pull the tray out of the oven. Spread the pizza sauce evenly across the crust and sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese over it.
06 - Layer the pepperoni and basil over the cheese. Put it back into the oven for 10 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
07 - Wait at least 5 minutes before slicing—the texture will hold together better once it cools a bit.

# Notes:

01 - A pizza stone crisps up the base even more if you have one available.
02 - Use an electric mixer or food processor to shred chicken fast, especially rotisserie chicken.
03 - A rolling pin helps you ensure the crust is evenly shaped.
04 - If you’re out of shredded chicken, ground turkey or chicken works just as well.
05 - Using parchment keeps the base from sticking and makes cleanup simple.
