Apple Caramel Crescent Ring (Printable Version)

A beautiful ring-shaped treat packed with spiced apple chunks and creamy cheese, then coated with caramel sauce. Fancy-looking but so easy, using ready-to-go ingredients.

# Ingredients:

01 - 1/2 cup caramel sauce
02 - 2 cans (8 oz each) crescent roll dough
03 - 1/4 cup granulated sugar
04 - 2 cups diced apples, peeled
05 - 1 tbsp butter, melted
06 - 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
07 - 1 tbsp coarse sugar (for topping)
08 - 1 tsp ground cinnamon
09 - 4 oz softened cream cheese

# Steps:

01 - Set your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a big baking pan with parchment paper.
02 - Combine the softened cream cheese, vanilla, granulated sugar, and cinnamon in a bowl until creamy, then gently mix in the diced apples.
03 - Separate the dough into triangle sections and lay them out on the lined baking pan. Place the wide ends overlapping in the middle to form a circle, leaving the tips pointing outward.
04 - Scoop the apple mixture onto the wide parts of the dough where they overlap, spreading it out evenly.
05 - Pull the tips of the dough triangles over the filling and tuck them under the wide part in the center, shaping a ring. A bit of the filling will show.
06 - Use a pastry brush to coat the top with melted butter, then sprinkle the coarse sugar evenly for a sweet hint of crunch.
07 - Place in the oven and bake for about 20-25 minutes, or until the pastry looks golden and is fully cooked through.
08 - Warm up the caramel sauce a little (if needed) so it pours easily. Drizzle over the ring while it’s still warm.
09 - Give the ring a few minutes to cool down before cutting it. Enjoy warm for the best flavor and texture.

# Notes:

01 - Try using Granny Smith or Honeycrisp apples since they stay firm and taste great in this dish.
02 - If your caramel isn’t runny enough, warm it in a microwave or small pot for ease of pouring.
03 - You can assemble everything up to 4 hours early and pop it in the fridge until baking time.
04 - To cut clean slices, a sharp knife and a soft back-and-forth motion work wonders.
