Peanut Butter Brownies (Printable Version)

Soft chocolate squares swirled with rich peanut butter. A simple dessert made for chocolate and peanut butter lovers.

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 ½ cups white sugar
02 - ½ cup smooth peanut butter
03 - ¼ cup melted, unsalted butter
04 - 2 large room-temperature eggs
05 - 1 teaspoon pure vanilla
06 - ⅔ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
07 - ½ teaspoon of sea salt
08 - ¾ cup regular all-purpose flour
09 - ½ teaspoon baking powder
10 - ½ cup melted semi-sweet chocolate (let cool)

# Steps:

01 - Set your oven to 350°F. Prep an 8x8 inch glass dish by lining it with parchment and adding a light grease layer.
02 - Whisk the butter with sugar, then mix in the melted chocolate and vanilla. Add eggs, blending lightly until just combined.
03 - Use a sifter to mix cocoa, salt, flour, and baking powder into the wet mixture. Fold gently with a spatula until mixed.
04 - Smooth the batter in the baking dish. Warm up the peanut butter for 15 seconds in the microwave, pour small spoonfuls on top, then create swirls with a knife.
05 - Bake for 35-40 minutes, checking with a toothpick (it should come out with just a few moist crumbs). Let the dessert cool before cutting.

# Notes:

01 - Keep leftovers at room temp or in the fridge for no more than 5 days.
02 - Using melted butter helps get chewy edges and a shiny top.
03 - If peanut butter starts to dry out, cover with foil during the last few baking minutes.
04 - Mix eggs by hand to avoid adding extra air that could lead to puffed edges.
05 - Microwave chocolate for 30 seconds at a time to avoid burning it.
