# Ingredients:

→ Garnishes

01 - Sliced green onions
02 - Sprinkle of sesame seeds

→ Sauces

03 - 1/4 teaspoon red chili flakes, optional
04 - 1 tablespoon hoisin
05 - 1 teaspoon honey or sugar
06 - 1/4 cup (60ml) soy sauce
07 - 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
08 - 1/2 cup (120ml) chicken or beef stock
09 - 1 tablespoon sesame oil

→ Vegetables and Beef

10 - 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced (optional)
11 - 2 tablespoons of cooking oil
12 - 2 garlic cloves, minced
13 - 2 medium-sized bell peppers, sliced thin
14 - 1 lb (450g) steak, ground beef, or flank steak
15 - 1 small onion, cut into thin slices

→ Rice Base

16 - Cooked rice, brown or white (2 cups or 400g)

# Steps:

01 - Mix all the ingredients for the sauce in a bowl. If you're using steak, slice it thinly the opposite way of the grain.
02 - In a big pan on medium-high heat, add a tablespoon of oil and cook the beef until browned, about 3-6 minutes. Take it out and leave it aside.
03 - In the same pan, heat the leftover oil. Toss in the garlic, ginger, onions, and peppers. Stir until they're just a little crispy but still tender, about 3-4 minutes.
04 - Put the beef back in the pan and pour in the sauce. Let it all bubble and thicken for 2-3 minutes.
05 - Scoop the rice into bowls, spoon the beef mix on top, and finish it off with a sprinkling of sesame seeds and green onions.

# Notes:

01 - Chicken, shrimp, or tofu can be swapped in
02 - Feel free to add different veggies to taste
03 - Cornstarch slurry works for a thicker sauce
