Fried Pickles Air Fryer (Printable Version)

Golden, crunchy pickles cooked in the air fryer. Comes with a creamy dip on the side. A lighter appetizer that's great for parties or snacking.

# Ingredients:

→ Pickling Coating

01 - 1/2 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper
02 - 2 large eggs
03 - 1 cup panko bread crumbs
04 - 1 tablespoon hot sauce (like Tabasco)
05 - 1 cup pickles, sliced and dried off
06 - Cooking spray or oil mist for frying
07 - 1/2 teaspoon salt
08 - 3 tablespoons standard all-purpose flour

→ Creamy Dip Base

09 - 1 garlic clove, finely minced
10 - 1/4 cup sour cream
11 - 1/4 cup regular mayo
12 - 1/4 cup diced onions, very small
13 - 1 teaspoon dried dill (optional, but adds flavor)
14 - 1/2 teaspoon salt
15 - 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

# Steps:

01 - Spread out a few layers of paper towels. Lay the pickles out flat and cover them with another layer of towels. Gently press and let them sit for about 5 minutes to absorb moisture.
02 - Grab two flat dishes. Mix the eggs, flour, hot sauce, salt, and pepper in one until it's smooth. In the other, scatter the panko breadcrumbs evenly.
03 - Take each pickle slice and cover it first in the egg mixture, making sure it's coated well. Then move it to the breadcrumbs, pressing lightly to stick crumbs evenly on all sides. Place it on a clean tray once done.
04 - Turn your air fryer on to 400°F (200°C). Let it heat up for a few minutes, about 3 or so.
05 - Arrange the breaded pickles inside the air fryer basket. Keep them spaced out so they don't touch. If needed, split them into batches. Lightly mist with oil before cooking for 5-7 minutes.
06 - Turn each pickle over carefully, spritz a bit more oil on them, and cook for another 5-7 minutes until they're golden and crispy.
07 - While they cook, grab a small bowl. Stir together sour cream, mayo, salt, pepper, onions, garlic, and dill until smooth and creamy.
08 - As soon as the fried pickles are ready, pop them on a serving dish and pair them with the dip. Enjoy them warm and crunchy—they're best fresh!

# Notes:

01 - This air fryer version skips the oil but gives you the same crispy texture as fried ones.
02 - Extra crunch depends on drying your pickles really well before coating.
03 - Avoid putting too many pickles in the basket at once—give them space to crisp up evenly.
