Get your oven to 350°F and line a cupcake pan with paper liners.

Stir together flour, sugar, soda, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.

Beat butter till creamy, then mix in sugar. Blend eggs one by one. Stir in orange juice and zest.

Add the dry mix and buttermilk alternately, stirring lightly each time until just blended.

Spoon batter into liners (leaving a little space at the top). Bake 18 to 20 minutes. Let them cool completely on a rack.

Whip butter until it’s velvety. Add powdered sugar gradually, mixing well. Toss in cocoa, milk, and vanilla and blend until fluffy. Pipe onto cooled cupcakes.
